Personal SuccessesJoint Project in Los Angeles Equips Five County ParksNovember 2007
KABC TV in Los Angeles reported glowingly about TriActive Fitness Zones™ in November 2007: “We all know we've got to exercise, but sometimes time and money are at a premium. But now there's no more excuse -- a community agency has put free public gyms outdoors so the whole family can get fit together.” Those gyms consist of TriActive exercise stations! For example, one already-popular family fitness zone is in Belvedere Park in East L.A. It is part of a joint effort by L.A. County Supervisor Gloria Molina, Kaiser Permanente and the Trust for Public Land to combat skyrocketing obesity rates. There are five total TriActive Fitness Zones™ already opened in Los Angeles County Parks, and plans to launch five additional ones. The TV news station noted that “This sturdy, weatherproof equipment is designed for people 13 and older. Organizers say it's the same type of sophisticated equipment that you can find at the best gyms. And you can be your own personal trainer. Signs near the equipment explain how to use the machines and how to create your own fitness program.” |
