Austin (Texas) Fights Back!

January 2008

KXAN Austin News in Texas summed up the benefits of using TriActive Fitness equipment in a park when they wrote in January 2008: “People can spend big bucks on gym memberships to use fancy fitness machines, or they can grab the kids and head out to Bohls and Gilleland Creek parks in Pflugerville.” Underwritten with a $15,000 grant from Steps to a Healthier Austin, which is an initiative of their local health and human services department, the TriActive Fitness zones in those two Texas parks were installed to help combat “the burden of asthma, diabetes, and obesity among East Travis County residents,” as KXAN noted. Among the new outdoor exercise equipment at the two parks are TriActive Fitness air walkers, exercise bikes, step & twists, warm-up stations, elliptical machines, exercise bikes, treadmills and sit-up boards.
